Anne Reingold, BFA
Enrichment Specialist
By the time she was seven years old, Anne, the daughter of a foreign correspondent for Time magazine, had already lived on three continents. Her experience growing up in Kenya and Tokyo and being exposed to so many different cultures gave her a true worldview and taught her that all people are worthy of attention and affection – especially our older population.
Anne has a BFA in Drama from NYU and pursued acting for 15 years before transitioning to what would become a successful 17-year career as a theatrical literary agent. While it was rewarding, she eventually left agenting because her autistic daughter needed a higher level of care.
During the pandemic, she began working as an elder companion to two older adults. Though each lived in different parts of NYC, they were both isolated, anxious and had early diagnoses of Alzheimer’s. During her work with each of them — reading the paper together, doing crossword puzzles, watching movies of interest to them, looking at photo albums and art books — she became acutely aware of the need for older adults to have companionship, cognitive enrichment and conversation. As an Enrichment Specialist for MindSense, she enjoys engaging her clients in activities that stimulate their minds and enrich their lives.
“I’m a writer, and I’m proud to have been published in two anthologies, with more publications to come. I love animals, music, dance, theatre, movies and am a voracious reader. I’m naturally curious about people and I’m forever asking questions and listening with a keen ear. I want people to know that they matter.”
