Reiki

woman receiving Reiki treatment

Reiki is a holistic healing practice that uses high frequency healing energy that flows from the palms of an attuned practitioner. Reiki works to break through blockages and heal “dis-ease” on all levels: mind, body and spirit, restoring physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is noninvasive and completely safe and can be combined with other treatment modalities. Because of its promising ability to increase well-being, Reiki is increasingly being used in clinical settings, including hospitals and hospice facilities.

Benefits

Because Reiki helps accelerate the body’s natural ability to heal, treatments can help improve any number of physical and psychological conditions including:

  • Broken and fractured bones
  • Arthritis and fibromyalgia
  • Memory and cognitive deficits
  • Post-operative recovery
  • Skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
  • Side-effects of chemo and radiation therapies
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Grief and loneliness

Hope C. Tarr is the director of our Reiki program and has more than 20 years’ experience and is currently a third degree Reiki practitioner. Her clients typically report relief from pain and discomfort, more rapid recovery times from surgery and illnesses and an overall boost in energy level and mood.

Hope Tarr is a gifted healer who uses her gifts with compassion and integrity. Her Reiki treatments helped speed my recovery from a radical surgical procedure. I am deeply grateful for her presence at such a crucial time in my life. — Joyce, New York, NY
